My First Ferney Trail Experience

My First Ferney Trail Experience

On Saturday, 13 September, I joined the Ferney Trail for the very first time — a 10 km challenge that I’ll never forget. Honestly, I was so stressed at the beginning. Since it was my first trail, I kept thinking, What if I can’t finish? To make it worse, I had slept late the night before, so I woke up already tired.

When we arrived, I looked around for my team, Le Bocage, and once I found them, we talked a little, which helped calm me down. At the start line, my nerves came rushing back, but the second we began, it all changed. I felt light, happy, and free.

The trail wasn’t easy. Whenever the path got really steep, I walked backwards — a funny trick, but it actually worked! At the drinking point, I felt so relieved. I grabbed some water and ate lots of oranges to keep my energy up. Then came the last big climb. It was tough, but reaching the top made us feel super proud.

Going downhill was way faster, and near the finish line, we even started running. Crossing that line with my dad by my side made the whole experience even more special. My first Ferney Trail might have started with stress, but it ended with excitement, pride, and an awesome memory I’ll always keep.
